Purple

I wore purple today.

I never really got behind any of these change your profile picture color to x for y cause, or wear x color for y cause days, but I gave this one a shot anyway. Given that the whole point (I think?) is to get people to ask why you're wearing an odd color shirt so you can direct them to whatever the cause of the day is, I think I failed. I interact with on average 4 people per day, and none of them said a word. I was especially out of place, since my only purple shirt is french cuffed.

The whole experience left me feeling sort of empty. I feel like I didn't accomplish anything. In fact I felt worse for trying to participate in what felt like an empty gesture. But I do care about the cause. Throwing money at a problem is perhaps nearly as empty a gesture, but it's something. Writing a blog post about it, also just a conscience soother? I guess. If you feel like doing something more than pulling a rarely worn article of clothing out of the back of your closet, you may find the following useful.

Bright side: I got to wear cufflinks.
